Hey, my names Charlie Hulme, I'm 27, from Halifax, West Yorkshire. I work for one of the many banks in the UK as an Operations Analyst.
I have been into drifting ever since visiting my first ever JDM Allstars event back in 2009! I bought a Logitech G25 straight away and spent many many hours every day after school going home and practicing drifting on my computer. In 2013 I bought my first drift car, a 1.8 Mx5, I had it for 6 months and did 6 drift days in it, didn't skip a beat!
Then swapped it for an S13 and I've been hooked ever since! My current S13 is my favourite out of all of them I've had - I feel it is very close to my ideal car - its rather basic but works very well and I cant wait to get to grips with it even more! The current setup runs an SR20 at 350hp.
My first drift competition was way back in 2014 when I competed in 2 rounds of Driftcup, since then I have taken a break from competition. But I returned last year with good results. I competed in Driftcup and came away with 4 awards over 3 events - Hard Charger, 1st Place(Un-Seeded), 2nd Place(Seeded) and Round 3 Team Winners.
After Round 3 of Driftcup and performing so well, I moved onto British Drift Championship, and at Round 4 I managed to qualify and gain my license. Then I battled my way to 4th place against some of the best Pro-Am drivers in the country! From here on I have stayed in the BDC. At the end of the BDC Season, I was awarded the 2019 Up and Coming Driver award!
Then I went on to compete in a One-off event, Drift Knights, qualified 3rd and finished 3rd overall!
In 2020 I am staying in the Pro2(Pro-am renamed) BDC class and with the car having some more power and grip I am really hoping to push and show what I am capable of.
I was amazed when ModStop approached me and I am looking forward to working with them throughout 2020 and beyond!
